Betfred Review
Betfred
Slap-headed bookie Fred Done has been about since the ’60s and went about offering bonuses on multiples to attract punters. With hundreds of Dones shops in England it certainly worked. Fred claims to have invented the Lucky 15 and since they’ve operated under the Betfred name have kept the concessions coming. Fred- an ardent Man United fan and official partner- famously shelled out on United winning the league in ‘98 before they capitulated to Arsenal, thereby costing him fortunes as he had to pay out twice. To be fair to Mr Done he’s not afraid to put his balls on the line.
Their strategy has been based on marketing Betfred as "The Bonus King" and to their credit they offer an awful lot of cashbacks. If you’re into your horse multiples (Yankees, Lucky 15s etc.) your money certainly goes further with Betfred. The £50 free bet sign-up bonus is fair enough too.
With the site being on the Finsoft platform (see Stans, Boyles) it’s very basic and quite limited. It’s pretty familiar but navigating across and across and across is tedious and annoying if you want to find your way to a market and needs sorting out. In other areas it’s very similar to the old SJ site and the current Boyles one.Fred’s other content is less comprehensive than many of the others but it is easy-to-find with big banners down the right-hand-side of the page to click on. Podcasts for major events are very 2009 and they have their own "legends" chat show which can be quite entertaining.
In a nutshell go to Fred if you like your horse multiples and bonuses on accas. Their live betting is alright but there’s very little European sports on their if that’s your cup of tea. A very orthodox British bookie.
