Victor Chandler Review
Victor Chandler
VC has been around in England since the 40s but like many bookmakers they are based over in Gibraltar these days. Synonymous with Racing, they have built up a very strong reputation on a foundation of years in Horse betting and are usually quite competitive with their prices.
Racing-wise they are very strong and on the festivals etc. their free “Beat Victor” tipping contest (do better than VC and win at least a fiver) is excellent. They often hype up their enhanced doubles on sports- stuff like Drogba to score first and Chelsea to win 2-1 but these are nothing to get excited about- they are just trying to drive punters to their high-percentage markets.
They do a refer a friend bonus for a pony which is fair enough and the sign-up offers are all pretty standard. None of their cash backs hold a candle to the Irish firms however. Like a few of the firms VC are in the process of launching a new website which can only be a good thing as the current one is pretty basic. Focusing on the positives the new one looks slick and clear with betting made very simple. For a company of VC’s size their live betting is pathetic- by far the worst of the major bookmakers. They seem to pick up live events at random and offer far less than their competitors.
The best feature VC offer is undoubtedly the free text message service which sends your mobile a text for every single result of all your bets as they happen. If you’ve backed a horse/team and you’re out and about, you find out how they’ve got on incredibly quickly to be fair to them. The fact that it’s free is fantastic it has to be said. As far as stats & microsites go, VC don’t really bother with them. If you like your horses, go to VC. The new website looks very impressive so if that goes live without a glitch they could really start competing online. If you’re interested in betting in-play avoid this website at all costs.
